Coefficient Programming
Classes at Coefficient CrossFit leverage our own custom in-house programming, led by our Chief Athletic Officer and Head Coach, Joe Aiello.
Coefficient Programming stays true to the proven foundational CrossFit methodology, emphasizing constantly varied functional movement performed at high intensity. Our mission is to deliver a comprehensive fitness protocol that helps athletes of all experience levels continue developing strength, skills, and capacity across all modalities, planes of motion, and functional applications. We are constantly evaluating, testing, and refining our approach so that our members are consistently achieving new PRs and capabilities from 1-hour classes 4+ days per week while minimizing injury exposure. The beauty of CrossFit is that gyms in our ecosystem have the freedom to execute the principles of CrossFit in their own unique way, but without attention many gyms fall into some common traps - pushing intensity at the expense of technique/recovery and ignoring too many domains of fitness. We are constantly evaluating our programming to ensure we avoid these pitfalls and deliver the ultimate fitness experience and outcomes for our clients.
Athletes will benefit at every workout in our gym, but for the most effective and life-changing results, we aim to get athletes in for at least 4 workouts per week alongside intentional nutrition, sleep, and recovery support.
In general, Coefficient Programming will contain at a minimum the following mix of work:
Every Week
At least the following in one or multiple workouts:
1 pure-strength focused day (longer rest between sets)
1 interval-format workout
1 skill-development focused session
1 workout including accessory strength development
1 “soul-crushing” workout (often our “Mental Test Monday” WODs)
1 movement mechanics focused workout
1 workout including gymnastics movement
Every Month
At least the following in one or multiple workouts:
“Hero” workout
CrossFit named or benchmark workout
Metabolic conditioning workouts that include snatch, clean, shoulder press, squat, and deadlift
2 or more days with running included
Strength Cycles
Coefficient Programming builds in tailored strength development for specific lifts in ~8 week cycles. During a strength cycle, there will be one day per week dedicated to pure strength work on this movement, and you can often expect other workouts throughout each week to include applicable accessory and mechanics work related to the current cycle.
Capacity Across Broad Time & Modal Domains
In line with the CrossFit methodology, expect very diverse workouts, and even when similar movements are programmed, Coefficient Programming is designed to build a broad range of volume capacity through the marriage of traditional strength work and metabolic conditioning.
