Sophie O’Cain

COACH

Growing up in New Zealand, sport has always been a core part of who I am. I’ve played competitive rugby my whole life and was lucky enough for the sport to take me around the world. I moved to the U.S. in January 2023 to continue playing rugby and pursue my studies. Since I’ve been here, I’ve earned my Bachelor of Sport Coaching in New Zealand and I’m now working to complete my Master of Health Science. In the meantime, I’ve transitioned from playing to a coaching role with the Lindenwood women’s rugby team.

I discovered CrossFit during this athlete-to-coach transition. I fell in love with the competitiveness, the constant challenge, and the opportunity to still push myself as an athlete—all while building a community for myself in St. Charles, which has truly become a home away from home. I also love the coaching side of CrossFit: helping people grow, move well, and gain confidence. It’s been a perfect fit for me.
